2022 Program and Contest Rules

Eligibility – To participate, you must be a youth or young adult in the following categories:
HIGH SCHOOL or YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT
To enter as a High School Student or Youth and Young Adult ages 12-25 you must meet one of these two requirements:
60-second films in the Hope & Justice category must also be submitted by midnight on March 1, 2022 to be eligible to compete with all other statewide submissions in that category.
However, any other non-60 second film submissions (poem, drawing, animation, TikTok, etc.) must be submitted by midnight on the last day of each month. There is a separate Entry Form for the Hope & Justice category.

- Be associated with a high school located in California and be in grades 9-12. Any high school in California is eligible, including but not limited to: public, private, charter, alternative, and home schools OR
- Be between the ages of 12 and 25 and associated with a college, university, club, community-based organization (e.g. a chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or NAMI), or other agency or program in California.
60-second films in the Hope & Justice category must also be submitted by midnight on March 1, 2022 to be eligible to compete with all other statewide submissions in that category.

SCAD Scholarship
SCAD Challenge entries must consist of a single piece and demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of aesthetics. Your students can let their design speak to their skill level and ability to handle university-level art and design assignments.
The undergraduate challenge is open to current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2020-21 academic year. The transfer challenge is open toany student planning to transfer to SCAD during the 2021-22 academic year.
A panel of SCAD faculty will review and evaluate entries, and winners will be selected from each category. Students should apply and complete their submission by Feb. 15, 2021. Winners will be announced March 5, 2021. To learn more, visit scad.edu/challenge.

MOPA is looking for students to creatively represent how they think about SPACE through photography or video!
Students have until March 16, 2021 to shoot photos or videos, edit, and choose ONE artwork to submit for jurying. Educators and parents may submit on behalf of students. There is no cost to enter!
Eligibility:
- ONE entry per student artist
- Students in grades K-12 (ages 4-18)
- Residents of San Diego County & Tijuana
- Photographic arts (digital photos, film photos, videos, collage, mixed media, alternative processes, etc)
- Artwork must be an original work of art created by the student artist during the 2020-21 school year
- Artwork addresses the theme "Space"
